Remove the screws and remove the cover from the right-hand control group. Refer to Illustration 1.

(C) 1 mm (0.04 inch) - Clearance between the bracket assembly and the lever (D) 1 mm (0.04 inch) - Clearance between the nut and the bracket assembly
Check the clearance between the locknut and the 114-4247 Bracket As (B) on the 149-3949 Control Lever (A). The 114-4247 Bracket As (B) should move freely about the 149-3949 Control Lever (A). The clearance (D) between nut and bracket assembly should be 1 mm (0.04 inch) when the bolt is flush against the other side of bracket. The clearance (C) between the bracket assembly and the lever should be 1 mm (0.04 inch). Refer to Illustrations 2 and 3.
Adjust the lock nuts on all of the brackets so that the lock nuts meet the clearance requirements.
Install the cover with the existing screws.
