Remove tab (U) from front housing casting along line to allow for belt driven water pump fitup.Installation of the New Pump

Assemble O-rings (17), (18), and (1) between pump (21) and spacer (24) .Use bolts (20) to secure the spacer. Assemble three more O-rings (17), (18), and (1) into the back of spacer (24) .

Assemble plug (28) and O-ring (5) into the pump.Assemble plug (26) and O-ring (2) into the pump.Assemble plugs (27) and O-rings (8) into the spacer and pump.

Assemble elbow (31) and gasket (14) using stud bolt (13) and washer (12) in the upper rear hole. Use bolt (3) and washer (12) in the lower front hole.Assemble plug (27) and O-ring (8) into the elbow.Assemble plug (29) and O-ring (16) into the elbow.

Assemble adapter (37) onto end of crankshaft. Use spacer (S) that was removed earlier. Secure adapter (37) and spacer (S) using four bolts (11). Torque bolts (11) to 190 30 N m (140 22 lb ft).Assemble pulley (53) onto adapter (37). Use damper (M) and spacer (N) that were removed earlier. Secure the pulley, damper, and spacer using bolts (14). Hand tighten the bolts.

Tighten the eight bolts using standard torque of 55 10 N m (40.5 7.5 lb ft). Use the torque pattern indicated in illustration 14

Assemble the pump onto the engine block using four bolts (9) and four spacers (19) .

Assemble pulley (15) onto the new pump using four bolts (6) and four washers (12) .

Remove and discard bolts (V) .

Install spacer (32) using two bolts (33) and two washers (7) .

Remove and discard bolts (W) .

Install spacer (32) using two bolts (33) and two washers (7) .

Assemble support bracket (30) onto spacers (32). Use four bolts (4) and four washers (7) .Assemble belt tensioner (23) onto support bracket (30) using one bolt (11) and washer (10) .Install belt (25) onto the pulleys.
Connect the water supply to the elbow on the pump.Replacement of the Electric Drive Pump
Follow the steps of the Removal procedure in the reverse order to replace the electric drive water pump back onto the engine arrangement.Note: Pulley (22) that was installed behind the damper in step 4 may remain on the engine and does not have to be removed.If you intend to replace the electric drive pump with the belt driven pump, refer to Special Instruction, REHS9873, "Water Pump Conversion from Electronic Pump to Belt Driven Pump on Certain D7E Track-Type Tractors".
