Information:

1. Open the hood of the machine.2. Turn the fuel supply line valve located on the bottom of the fuel tank assembly to the "Closed" position. 3. Loosen the clamp, and remove tube assembly (1).4. Remove bolts (2) and elbow (3). 5. Remove oil drain tube assembly (4).6. Put identification marks on wires (5) that are connect to the fuel ratio control for installation purposes. Disconnect the wires from the fuel ratio control.7. Disconnect cable assemblies (6) from the governor.8. Remove tube assembly (7).9. Remove fuel injection lines (8). See the topic "Remove & Install Fuel Injection Lines" in this module.10. Remove clamp (9).11. Disconnect hose assembly (10) from the fuel injection pump housing.12. Remove bracket (11).13. Remove fuel transfer pump (12). See the topic "Remove & Install Fuel Transfer Pump" in this module. 14. Remove the six nuts, washers, cover (13) and the gasket from over the fuel pump drive gear in the timing gear housing. 15. Remove bolt (14) and the washer from the fuel injection pump camshaft. Install tool (B) and bolt (14) until there is a gap of 3.18 mm (.125 in) between tool (B) and the fuel pump drive gear.16. Install tooling (A) as shown. Tighten the stud to pull the fuel pump drive gear from the taper on the fuel injection pump camshaft. Remove tooling (A), bolt (14) and tool (B).
Typical Example17. Fasten a lifting strap and a hoist to the fuel injection pump housing and governor.18. Remove two bolts (16) and three nuts (17). Carefully remove the fuel injection pump housing and governor from the engine. The weight of the fuel injection pump housing and governor is 29 kg (65 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the fuel injection pump housing and governor.19. Be sure all components of the fuel system are thoroughly clean prior to installation. No. 1 piston at top center (TC) on the compression stroke is the starting point for all timing procedures. The engine is seen from the flywheel end when direction of crankshaft rotation is given.20. Put clean engine oil on the four O-ring seals for the fuel injection pump housing and governor, and install them in their correct locations.21. Fasten a lifting strap and a hoist to the fuel injection pump housing and governor. Put the unit in position on the timing gear plate and oil manifold. Install two bolts (16) and three nuts (17).22. Remove timing cover (15) and the gasket from the fuel injection pump housing. Install tool (C) in the timing hole in the housing. Push on tool (C), and turn the fuel injection pump camshaft. When tool (C) engages with the slot in the camshaft, the fuel injection pump is in the No. 1 piston top center position.23. Put the fuel pump drive gear in position on the fuel injection pump camshaft. Install tool (D) and bolt (14). Tighten the bolt only finger tight. 24. Remove the electric starting motor from the engine. See the topic "Remove &
