Procedure to Install the 5P-9119 Sealant (Adhesive Backed)

(1) Flange (2) Sealant
Visually inspect the face of the flange for nicks or scratches. If nicks or scratches are found, grind the face of the flange smooth.
Install the sealant. When possible, the portion of the sealant that is crossed should be located on a side of the tank that will be above the fluid level. Refer to Illustration 1.

Install the sealant so that the outer edge of the sealant is contacting the bolt holes, but not intersecting the bolt holes. Refer to Illustration 2.
Position the ends of the sealant so that the ends are crossed. Refer to Illustration 2.
Tighten two bolts and nuts on both sides of all four corners.
Tighten all of the bolts and nuts around the tank.Note: Tighten the two bolts and nuts on both sides of all four corners again.Note: Tighten the bolts and nuts that are directly over the joint at location (A) again.
