The program begins with the screen that is shown in illustration 2. The words "Query Unit#" should appear at the top of the screen. If "Query Unit#" does not appear, see Testing and Adjusting, "Troubleshooting". After a brief period, the Serial Number of the Product Link Module should appear at the top of the screen. Begin the process by clicking the "Register" button (1). This will start the "Caterpillar Product Link System Installation Wizard".

The first screen is the "CLPS Information Screen". You are not required to enter any information. Click the "Next>" button.

Enter The Information About The Machine And The Dealer.
Enter the "Product Serial Number" (2). Enter the number in uppercase letters. Do not abbreviate the number. Do not omit any zeroes.
Enter the "Dealer ID/Code" (3). This is the dealer's mailbox ID number.
Click the "Next>" button.

Enter The Information For Generating Reports.
The "Current Time" on the screen is the local time. Do not revise this field.
The "Power Down Time Limit" and the "GPS Failure Resend" values should be left with the default values. Do not revise these fields.
Enter the hours from the service meter in the "Engine Hour" field (4). Then, click "Next>".

Click on the arrow (5) that points downward in order to activate the dropdown menu. Select "1=12V" for 12 volt machines. Select "2=24V" for 24 volt machines. Keep the default values for the other two fields on this screen. Then, click on "Next>".

The last screen of the registration wizard is the "Registration Parameters Screen". This screen summarizes the parameters. If all of the parameters are correct, then click "Finish" in order to complete registering. If any of the parameters are incorrect, then click on the "
Optional Check: Close the "Registration Tool" program completely and re-open the program. This allows you to verify that all of the parameters that were set during the setup have been saved. After opening the program click "Engine Hour" in order to verify the engine hours. If the "Engine Hour" value is incorrect, update the "Engine Hour" value. Refer to "Adjusting The Value Of The Service Meter". If the "Engine Hour" value is correct, check the other Parameters. The Loopback Test is optional. This test is usedy in order to ensure that the Product Link module is able to communicate with the satellite network.Note: The machine must be outside with an unobstructed view of the sky.
When the Satellite In View Indicator (6) blinks with a bird illustration, then click the "Test" button (7). This will start the "NCC Loopback Test" screen. The loopback test may take several minutes.
