BULLDOZER,
Information:
Which Generate This Code:The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects all of the following conditions:
Inlet manifold temperature is between 70 °C (158 °F) and 80 °C (176 °F) for more than 30 seconds.
The engine has been running for more than ten seconds. This ten second delay begins once the engine speed is greater than zero rpm.
105-03 diagnostic code is not active.
105-04 diagnostic code is not active.System Response:The ECM will log the derate. The warning lamp will flash and the derate will be transmitted to the display. The ECM will derate the engine power at a rate of 1.67 percent per second while the event remains active. The ECM can derate the engine power as much as 100 percent of the available derate. The ECM will restore full engine power when the inlet manifold temperature falls 2 °C (35 °F) below the trip point for five seconds.
Low powerTest Step 1. Inspect the Sea Water Strainer
Inspect the sea water strainer for plugging. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Sea Water Strainer - Clean/Inspect" for more information.Expected Result:The sea water strainer is clean and free of debris. Results:
OK - The sea water strainer is clean and free of debris. Proceed to Test Step 2.
Not OK - The sea water strainer is plugged.Repair: Clean the sea water strainer. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Sea Water Strainer - Clean/Inspect" for more information.Verify that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.Test Step 2. Inspect the Auxiliary Water Pump
Inspect the auxiliary water pump for proper operation. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Auxiliary Water Pump - Inspect" for more information.Expected Result:The auxiliary water pump is working properly. Results:
OK - The auxiliary water pump is working properly. Proceed to Test Step 3.
Not OK - There is a problem with the auxiliary water pump.Repair: Repair the pump.Verify that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.Test Step 3. Perform a Check of the Aftercooler
Perform a check of the aftercooler. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Aftercooler Core - Clean/Test" and/or the appropriate topic in Testing and Adjusting.Expected Result:There are no problems with the aftercooler. Results:
OK - There may be an intermittent problem.Repair: Monitor the operation of the engine.Repair the problem.Verify that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.
Not OK - There is a problem with the aftercooler.Repair: Repair the problem.Verify that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.
