The center post plug on the 249-2329 Oil Filter Element As may separate from the end cap of the filter. This separation may cause a restriction of transmission fluid flow due to the center post plug lodging against the filter outlet passage.

To prevent damage to the filter during installation, avoid forceful installation of the filter element into the filter housing. This action may punch out the center post plug.A new manufacturing process for the filter will be implemented in the second quarter 2016 which will improve the bonding of the plug to the end cap.
