Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the turbocharger.
Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove cooling system pressure cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and cooling system pressure cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not attempt to tighten hose connections when the coolant is hot, the hose can come off causing burns.Cooling System Coolant Additive contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Disconnect harness assemblies (1) Loosen clamp (2) and remove intake tube (3).

Loosen clamp (5). Remove tube (4).

Remove tube assembly (6). Remove tube assembly (7).

Disconnect tube assembly (10). Disconnect tube assembly (9). Disconnect elbow (8). Remove bolt (11). Reposition tube assembly (12) to the side. Remove the O-ring seal for elbow (8).

Remove clamp assemblies (13) and remove exhaust cooler (NRS) (14). Installation Procedure
Install exhaust cooler (NRS) (14) in the reverse order of removal.
Install new clamp assemblies (13). Tighten the bolts for clamp assemblies (13) to a torque of 40 5 N m (30 4 lb ft).
Lubricate the O-ring seal for elbow (8) with the fluid that is being contained.
Tighten clamp (5) to a torque of 55 8 N m (50 6 lb ft) with a wrench that has a 75 RPM maximum speed.
Tighten clamp (2) to a torque of 35 2 N m (26 2 lb ft) with a wrench that has a 75 RPM maximum speed.
