Always replace the secondary filter element. Never attempt to reuse the secondary filter element by cleaning.The secondary filter element should be replaced at the time the primary element is serviced for the third time. The secondary filter element should be replaced every time the primary element is replaced.

Remove the air cleaner housing cover.
Remove the primary filter element from the air cleaner housing.
Clean inside the air cleaner housing with a wet rag before the secondary filter element (1) is removed.
Inspect the gasket between the air inlet pipe and the air cleaner housing. Replace the gasket if the gasket is damaged.

Remove the secondary element by using the handle (2). If you do not remove element by using the handle, you could damage the filter which could lead to a contaminated engine.Note: Do not clean the secondary element. Always replace the element with a new element.
Install a new secondary element.
Install the primary element and the air cleaner housing cover. Fasten the clips to secure the air cleaner housing cover.
Close the engine access door.
