Install O-ring seal (14).

Install Tooling (C) to the axle housing. Note: Tooling (C) must be modified in order to be used as a guide bolt. Position Tooling (C) in a suitable vice. Remove the head of the bolt in order to use Tooling (C) as a guide bolt.
Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to differential and bevel gear (13). The weight of differential and bevel gear (13) is approximately 415 kg (915 lb). Install differential and bevel gear (13) to the axle housing.
Remove Tooling (C) from the axle housing.

Install four special bolts (12) in order to align differential and bevel gear (13) to the axle housing. Note: Bolts (12) are longer.
Apply Tooling (D) to 20 bolts (11).
Install 20 bolts (11). Tighten 20 bolts (11) to a torque of 475 60 N m (350 44 lb ft).
Remove four special bolts (12). Apply Tooling (D) to four special bolts (12).
Install four special bolts (12). Tighten four special bolts (12) to a torque of 475 60 N m (350 44 lb ft).

Install O-ring seal (9) to pin (10).
Use Tooling (A) to pin (10) to the axle housing.

Install cover (6) and bolts (7). Tighten bolts (7) evenly to a torque of 47 N m (35 lb ft).
Use a feeler gauge to measure to gap between the axle housing and cover (6).
Subtract 0.05 0.03 mm (0.002 0.001 inch) from the measurement found in Step 13, to give the thickness of shims required.
Remove bolts (7) and cover (6).

Install shims (8), cover (6) and bolts (7).
Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 100 15 N m (75 10 lb ft).

Connect four hose assemblies (1), (2), (3) and (4). End By:
Install the axle shafts. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Install".
Install the front axle assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fixed Axle (Front) - Install".
