Disassembly and Assembly, SENR7160, "776 Tractor and 777 Truck Power Train", "Differential and Carrier - Assemble Differential and Carrier". The information that is given in Step 27 is incomplete. Replace the information that is in Step 27 with the following information.Check the bolts for wear. If necessary, use new bolts. If large housing (30) is used, start all of the bolts (37) that hold differential (35) and bevel gear (36) together. Install the washers and install the nuts.If large housing (30) has been replaced, use the following steps to ensure proper fitup.
Align the holes in differential (35) with the holes in the bevel gear (36) .
Use bevel gear (36) as a guide in order to ream one hole in differential (35) and bevel gear (36). Ream the hole to a diameter of 19.050 0.013 mm (0.7500 0.0005 inch). Use the following parts in order to hold differential (35) in place: one new bolt, one washer and one nut.
Repeat Step 2 in order to install a new bolt that is 180 degrees from the first bolt.
Ream the remaining holes to a diameter of 19.050 0.013 mm (0.7500 0.0005 inch).
Install 12 new bolts, washers and nuts (37) .
