Clearing EGR System Inducements
Perform the following steps to clear EGR system inducements:
Troubleshoot the associated diagnostic codes and make any necessary repairs. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Diagnostic Trouble Codes" for the correct procedure.
Connect to the electronic service tool.
Check that the diagnostic codes are now logged and not active. Check that there are not any new active diagnostic codes. The 520246 diagnostic code will remain visible as a logged diagnostic code in the electronic service tool.
Start the engine and operate the engine at a high speed and load point until the following conditions are met:
Engine coolant temperature is greater than 60° C (140° F)
SCR intake temperature is greater than 200° C (392° F)
"SCR System #1 State" indicates "Normal Dosing Operation"
DEF dosing valve duty cycle is greater than 0 percent (this value will pulsate as the dosing valve is switched on and off)
Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position for 2 minutes.
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position. Ensure that there are no active diagnostic codes. The 520246 diagnostic code will remain visible as a logged diagnostic code in the electronic service tool.
Operate the engine at a high speed and load point and check that no diagnostic codes become active.
Stop the engine. Use the electronic service tool to clear all logged diagnostic codes.SCR Systems Inducements

DEF Quality InducementIf diagnostic codes for any of the above inducements are active, the "Inducement Safe Harbor Mode" will not be activated.Once all the above inducements have been cleared, perform the following steps to clear SCR system inducements:
Troubleshoot the associated diagnostic codes and make any necessary repairs. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Diagnostic Trouble Codes" for the correct procedure.
Initiate the "Emissions Safe Harbor Reset" by performing the following steps:Note: These steps must be performed in the correct order to ensure that the "Inducement Safe Harbor Mode" is activated. "Emissions Safe Harbor Reset" in the electronic service tool must be completed prior to the keyswitch cycle which activates "Inducement Safe Harbor Mode".
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position.
Connect to the electronic service tool.
Navigate to the "Service" menu.
Select "Engine Emissions Operator Inducement Safe Harbor Reset" from the drop-down menu.
Click the "Reset" button.
Complete the following keyswitch cycle to enter "Inducement Safe Harbor Mode":
Turn the keyswitch to the OFF
