Rework Procedure
CORRECTIVE ACTION:
The following Caterpillar Publications may be helpful, and can be located in the Caterpillar, Service Information System (SIS-Web)
KENR5832 "Tilt Cylinder ? Remove and Install"
SEBF8072 "Inspection and Salvage of Hydraulic Cylinder Components"
1. Following the published "Removal and Installation" guidelines in KENR5832, remove the failed Tilt Cylinder from the machine and transport it to the Dealer Hydraulic Shop for modification.
2. Disassemble the Cylinder in accordance with the "Disassembly" guidelines published in KENR5832.
3. Following the "Inspection and Salvage" guidelines in SEBF8072, determine the correct disposition of the disassembled components and order new components if required.
4. Exchange the existing Tilt Cylinder Assembly with the new replacements indicated below:
Right Cylinder Assembly = 366-8031 replaces 309-0856
Left Cylinder Assembly = 366-8032 replaces 309-0834
5. Make certain that all components are clean and free of contamination. Assemble the Tilt Cylinder in accordance with the "Assembly" guidelines published in KENR5832.
6. Reinstall Tilt Cylinder on the machine and follow the normal commissioning processes required at the Customer site.
