Change Oil
At operating temperature, the hydraulic tank is hot and under pressure.Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the filler cap slowly to relieve pressure.
Operate the machine long enough to warm the oil.The machine should be level. All attachments should be lowered to the ground with a slight down pressure. The parking brake should be engaged, and the engine stopped. 1. Remove the hydraulic system oil tank filler cap.2. Wash the fill strainer and filler cap in clean, nonflammable solvent. 3. Remove the oil drain plug, located at the front of the hydraulic tank.4. Attach a hose to a pipe with 1/2-4 NPTF threads.5. Install the pipe and hose into the drain hole.6. Turn the 8 mm (.3 in) square valve stem 1/4 turn to open the drain. Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.7. Turn the valve stem 1/4 turn to close the drain valve.8. Clean and install the drain plug. Tighten the plug to a torque of 60 7 N m (45 5 lb ft).9. Change the hydraulic system filter. See the topic Hydraulic System under Every 500 Service Hours or 3 Months in the Maintenance Section of this manual.10. Install the filler strainer. 11. Fill the hydraulic system oil tank. See the topic Refill Capacities in the Maintenance Section of this manual for the correct amount of oil.12. Inspect the filler cap gasket. Replace the gasket if damaged.13. Install the oil filler cap.14. Start and run the engine for a few minutes.15. Maintain the oil level to the FULL mark in the sight gauge when all implements are lowered to the ground and tilt cylinders are centered.16. Stop the engine.Final Drives

Wipe covers and surfaces around openings before checking or adding oil. 1. Position one final drive with the oil drain plug at the bottom.2. Remove drain plug (1). Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.3. Inspect the drain plug seal. Replace the seal if damaged.4. Clean and install the drain plug.5. Remove oil fill plug (2).6. Fill the final drive to the bottom of the fill plug opening. See the topic Refill Capacities in the Maintenance Section of this manual for the correct amount of oil.7. Inspect the condition of the oil fill plug seal. Replace the seal if damaged.8. Repeat this procedure on the final drive on the opposite side of the machine.Track Roller Frame Guides
Measure Wear
Measure the rotational movement of the front roller frame relative to the rear roller frame. 1. Raise the front of the machine with the bulldozer hydraulics.
