To prevent possible personal injury, make sure all the pressure in the steering system is released before any hoses are disconnected.
Typical Example1. Drain the oil from the steering system.2. Put identification marks on two hoses (1) that come from the steering metering pump and two hoses (3) that come from the steering cylinders. Disconnect all four hoses from steering relief valve (2).3. Remove two bolts (4), and remove the valve. The following steps are for installation of the steering relief valve.4. Put the steering relief valve in position on the frame, and install two bolts (4).5. Connect four hoses (1) and (3) to the steering relief valve.6. Fill the steering system hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. See the Operation And Maintenance Manual for further information.Disassemble And Assemble Steering Relief Valve
Start By:a. remove steering relief valve 1. Remove plug (5) from each end of body (1). Remove shims (4) and the O-ring seal from plugs (5).2. Remove spring (3), valve (2) and seat (6) from each end of body (1). Remove the O-ring seal from seat (6). The following steps are for assembly of the steering relief valve.3. Put the O-ring seals in position on two seats (6) and two plugs (5).4. Put seat (6) in position in body (1) with the small holes facing outward.5. Put shims (4), spring (3) and valve (2) in position in plug (5).6. Install plug (5) in body (1). Make sure the valve is in position on the seat.End By:a. install steering relief valve
