Introduction
The 7C9136 Bearing Cap used on 7C7162, 7C9135, 7C9163, 7E3085, and 9Y2899 Rotor Assemblies has a new I.D. and O.D. dimension and tolerance. The new I.D. dimension provides for the fit to the 2L4444 Bearing, and the new O.D. dimension provides for the fit to the generator bearing bracket.This Special Instruction provides the necessary dimensional information required to check the I.D. and O.D. dimensions of the bearing cap whenever the 2L4444 Bearing is replaced. Failure to change bearing cap when dimensional tolerances are exceeded may result in premature failure of the 2L4444 Bearing.This dimensional information is adaptable to first production of generators with 2L4444 Bearings and 7C9136 Bearing Caps.Reference: July 23, 1990 Service Magazine Article "Bearing Information for SR4 Generators".Dimensions
