The front and rear windshield wiper motors and linkages are removed and installed the same way. The front windshield wiper motor and linkage is shown. 1. Remove two bolts (1) and mirror and bracket (3) from the cab.2. Remove two bolts (2) and motor cover (4). 3. Remove buttons (5) with tooling (A).4. Remove cab liner (6) from the cab. 5. Disconnect wires (7) for the wiper motor. Put identification on the wires for correct installation. 6. Put a mark as to the location of wiper arm (10) on the wiper motor shaft for correct installation.7. Remove nuts (8) and (9) and remove wiper arm (10). 8. Remove rubber grommet (13), the nut and washer from the motor shaft.
When bolts (11) are removed the wiper motor is free to fall.
9. Remove two bolts (11) and bracket (12) from the cab.10. Remove the wiper motor.Install Windshield Wiper Motor And Linkage
1. Put wiper motor (1) in position.2. Put the wires in position in grommet (2). 3. Install bracket (4) and bolts (3) that hold the wiper motor in position.4. Install the washer, nut (5) and rubber grommet (6) on the wiper motor shaft. 5. Install wiper arm assembly (7) in its original position. Install the nuts that hold the wiper arms in place. 6. Connect wires (8) that go to the wiper motor. 7. Put cab liner (9) in position. 8. Install buttons (10) that hold the cab liner in place with tooling (A). 9. Put mirror (12) in position and install bolts (11).10. Put motor cover (13) in position and install the bolts that hold it.Disassemble Windshield Wiper Motor And Linkage
start by:a) remove windshield wiper motor and linkage 1. Remove spacer (3) from wiper arm shaft link assembly.2. Remove two clips and two washers (1) from the ends of link (2), then remove the link. 3. Remove three screws and lockwashers (5) and then remove motor assembly (4) from bracket (6). 4. Remove nut and lockwasher (7), then remove arm (8) and the spring washer behind it. 5. Remove two screws (11) and remove shaft and link assembly (9). Remove three spacers (10) and studs from bracket (6).Assemble Windshield Wiper Motor And Linkage
1. Install three studs and spacers (1) on bracket (2). Install shaft and link assembly (3) to the bracket with two screws and lockwashers. 2. Install spring washers (5) and arm (4) on motor shaft, then install the lockwasher and nut. 3. Install motor assembly (6) to bracket (8) with three screws and lockwashers (7). 4. Install link (10) with notch down toward the shaft and link assembly (9) as shown. Then install washer (11) and clip (12) to both ends of link (10).5.
