Max Travel Speed Test
Introduction
This test is designed to determine the maximum travel speed of the compactor over a set course.

(A) Digital ThermometerNote: The oil in the system must be SAE 10W hydraulic oil. Note: All speed tests are made with the engine rpm at maximum rpm.
Start the machine and run the engine at 3005 15 RPM for 4 cylinder engines CB-334E (S/N: C4F1-UP, C4X1-UP) and CB-335E (S/N: C5F1-UP). Start the machine and run the engine at 2800 10 RPM for 3 cylinder engines CB-334E (S/N: C4J1-UP) and CB-335E (S/N: C5J1-UP). Check the hydraulic temperature with Tool (B) until the hydraulic oil temperature reaches 38°C (100°F).
Time the machine through a 30.5 m (100 ft) timing trap.Note: The machine must be at top speed through the entire timing trap and the vibration system must be off.
The circuit operation is normal if the travel speeds match the speeds on the following charts.

Repeat the test in reverse. Times for forward and reverse through the 30.5 m (100 ft) timing trap must match within one second.Check the following parameters if the travel speed is not correct.
Check the charge relief valve setting.
Check the main relief valve setting.
Check the cable linkage between the propel pump and the control lever for damage.
Check the manual displacement control.
Check the piston pump neutral.
