4. Release the pressure in the cooling system. Drain the coolant from the radiator. The capacity of the cooling system is 15.4 liters (4.10 U.S. gal).5. Remove the hood from the machine. The weight of the hood is 49 kg (108 lb).6. Remove the upper and lower fan guards.7. Remove the cover from below the front of the engine. Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses. 8. Remove cover (1) from the machine. 9. Remove plate (3), plate (4) and support (2) at the rear of the engine.10. Disconnect tube (5) from the bottom of the hydraulic pump. 11. Put identification marks on hoses (6), (7) and (8) as to their location on the hydraulic pump. Disconnect the hoses from the pump.
View From Rear Of Engine (Left Side)12. Put identification marks on three wiring harnesses (9) for correct installation. Disconnect the wiring harnesses. 13. Loosen nut (10), and remove nut (11) from the governor control cable. Remove governor control cable (12) from support bracket (13) and lever (14). Move the control cable clear of the engine.14. Disconnect fuel lines (15) and (16) from the governor.
View From Under Engine (Right Side)15. Put identification marks on three wires (17) as to their location on the starter. Disconnect the three wires from the starter.16. Put identification marks on four wiring harnesses (18) for correct installation. Disconnect the wiring harnesses. 17. Put identification marks on four wires (19) as to their location on the starter solenoid. Disconnect the four wires from the starter solenoid. 18. Disconnect wire harness (21) from the alternator.19. Turn off the two heater hose valves. Put identification marks on two heater hoses (20) as to their location on the water pump. Disconnect the heater hoses. 20. Remove cover (22) from over the air cleaner assembly.21. Loosen clamp (26), and slide hose (25) off of air inlet tube (24).22. Remove four bolts (23) that hold air inlet tube (24) to the engine side cover.23. Disconnect tube (27) for the ether starting aid from air inlet tube (24).24. Loosen clamp (28), and slide hose (29) off of the air inlet tube.25. Remove air inlet tube (24) from the opening in the engine side cover.
Do not damage the radiator core, fan shroud or fan assembly during removal or installation of the engine. The engine must be held level during removal and installation to prevent possible interference between components.
26. Fasten a hoist to the engine. Remove the four mounting bolts, u-nuts and washers that hold the engine to the frame. Raise the engine approximately 6.4 mm (.25 in). Move the engine to the rear until the fan assembly is clear of the fan shroud. Remove engine and hydraulic pump (30) as a unit. The weight of the unit is 4190 kg (1900 lb).27. Remove upper
