Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove crankshaft front seal. Note: Refer to Specification UENR0995 "Engine Design" for non-specified engine Torque Values.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct draining/filling procedure.

Disconnect hose assemblies (1) from the oil cooler.

Remove bolts (2).
Remove front housing (3) and the gasket. Installation Procedure
Install front housing (3) in the reverse order of removal.
Clean all the gasket surfaces of the cylinder block.

Apply liquid gasket to the seam between the lower crankcase section (5) and the upper crankcase section (4).
Install 13 bolts (2) in a side to side sequence. Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 24 to 27 N m (18 to 20 lb ft).
