1/4All 3500 Series And 6 Bore Vee EnginesReference: Service ManualThe 6V9433 Crankshaft Removal Group can be used to raise and turn the engine to permit easy removal of the crankshaft. This tool group has been designed primarily for removal of crankshafts from marine engines. However, it can be used in industrial applications where the crankshaft must be removed at the job site.
To decrease the possibility of injury in marine applications, this tool group must be used on vessels at rest and secured to a dock or pier.

Installation Of Extensions And Modifications To Support Rails
(1) Disassemble the engine as necessary in preparation to remove the crankshaft; see Service Manual. Remove all parts above the cylinder heads that will make the engine top heavy and prevent the engine from being rotated 180°. Remove the bolts that fasten the cylinder block to the oil pan. (2) On 6 1/4 bore vee engines with short-channel supports, fasten extensions (1) to support rails with four S1973 Bolts and four 1B4332 Nuts at locations (B) and (C) on rear of support, and locations (A) and (C) on front of support. Fasten support blocks (2) to extensions (1) and against end of support with four S1595 Bolts and four 3B4508 Lockwashers. (3) On 6 1/4 bore vee engines with short angle support rails, drill six 10.7 mmØ (.422"Ø) holes at locations shown. Put 1/2"-13 threads in the six holes. Fasten extensions (3) to the outside of angle supports with six S1595 Bolts and six 3B4508 Lockwashers. Fasten support blocks (2) to extensions (3) and against end of support rail with four S1595 Bolts and four 3B4508 Lockwashers.

3500 AND 6 1/4 BORE VEE WITH CHANNEL SUPPORT RAILS(4) On 3500 Series and 6 1/4 bore vee engines with channel support rails, drill 10.7 mmØ (.422"Ø) holes in support rails
