This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI1295" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI1295" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the March 22, 1996 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Termination Date, Problem, Affected Product, Parts Needed, Action Required, Service Claim Allowances, and Parts Disposition.
Problem
The steering wheel hub may relax, which will cause a reduction in the torque of the nut that holds the steering wheel on certain 12H, 14H, 16H, 120H, 135H, 140H, 143H, 160H, and 163H Motor Graders

Action Required
Remove rubber horn cap by pulling it away from the steering wheel. Remove the 7I4700 Locking Nut from the shaft. Apply red Locktite to the shaft threads only. Install locking nut onto shaft and tighten to 47 6.5 N m. Press horn cap back onto steering wheel.
