6V-2156 Link Bracket     1    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Remove the floorplate.
Remove the rear bottom guard. The weight of the rear bottom guard is 70 kg (155.0 lb).
Drain the oil from the transmission and bevel gear case.

Note: There will be a loss of oil when the hoses are disconnected from the oil pump.
Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (2) from oil pump (3) .

Disconnect hose assembly (5) and flange (4) from the oil pump.

Fasten a hoist and Tooling (A) to oil pump (3). Remove two bolts (6). Remove oil pump (3) from the machine. The weight of oil pump (3) is 25 kg (55.0 lb).
