Use the steps and the handholds when you dismount. When you dismount, face the machine and use both hands to dismount. Make sure that the steps are clear of debris before you dismount.
Inspect the engine compartment for debris. To prevent a fire, clean out any debris and any paper.
Remove all flammable debris from the front bottom guard in order to reduce a fire hazard. Remove the debris through the access doors. Dispose of the debris properly.
Turn the key for the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Remove the key if the machine is parked longer than a month. This procedure will prevent the battery from being drained by the following means.

Install the vandalism guards (if equipped). Install all locks.
