This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI1437" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI1437" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
Problem
The starter cable needs to be reworked to eliminate interference with fan pump hose on certain 345B L Excavators. The 1288884 Starter Cable Assembly may interfere with the 1434182 Fan Pump Suction Hose Assembly where the starter cable makes a loop and attaches to the starter solenoid. If the starter cable and fan pump suction hose interfere the cable can wear through the hose until it contacts the wire braid of the hose which then wears the cable insulation off causing an electrical arc.

Rework Procedure
1. Park the machine on a level surface and place the front linkage in the servicing position.2. Shut off the engine, move the hydraulic activation control lever to the locked position and remove the start switch key.3. Remove rear bottom 1507341 Engine Guard by loosening (5) 0994691 Bolts and (5) 5P1076 Washers.4. Inspect 1288884 Starter Cable Assembly for a minimum clearance of 20 mm to 1434182 Fan Pump Suction Hose Assembly. See Illustration 2.5. If the clearance is at least 20 mm no further rework is required and 1507341 Bottom Guard Assembly can be reinstalled and tighten to a torque of to 100 20 N m. Step 2: Reroute 1434182 Hose Assembly (replace if needed). 6. If clearance between the starter cable assembly and the fan pump suction hose is less than 20 mm, remove the tie straps holding the 1434182 Fan Pump Hose Assembly to the engine oil remote oil filter hoses. Check the pump compartment for additional tie straps. See Illustration 3.7. If the starter cable and hose Assembly are in contact check for damage to the cable insulation or hose covering. Repair cable using electrical tape and replace 1434182 Hose Assembly if hose cover is warn through to wire braid.8. Loosen the 1052652 Hydraulic Tank Fill Plug to relieve pressure. See Illustration 4.9. Remove the 1052652 Hydraulic Tank Plug and install a vacuum tool in its place.
