The dual-mode steering solenoid valve is located on the left side of the machine behind the located panel.
The two position four way dual-mode steering solenoid valve is activated on or off by the ECM. The quick steer solenoid controls the operation mode for the dual-mode HMU. Energizing the solenoid enables the quick steering mode and de -energizing enables standard steer mode. The ECM provides current to turn on the solenoid when quick steer is selected on the keypad by the operator.Relays

The Secondary Steering Enable Relay is located behind the panel shown on the left side of the cab exterior.
Relay coil resistance is measured at pins 85 and 86. Relay coil resistance is 228 ohms 22.8 ohms at 25° C (77° F).Secondary Steering Motor Relay

The Secondary Steering Motor Relay is located on the left side of the machine forward of the rear axle on the inner frame.
The ECM will power the secondary steering enable relay when primary steering pressure drops below a specified value. The secondary steering enable relay powers the secondary steering motor relay. Secondary steering motor relay coil resistance is 4.8 to 5.4 ohms.Data Link
Cat Data Link
The Cat Data Link is an input/output of the ECM. The data link uses the connector for the service port in order to communicate with the Caterpillar Electronic Technician. A data link connection is provided for the product link.Note: The control for the product link provides a global positioning system for the machine.The data link is bidirectional. The bidirectional link allows the ECM to input information and output information. The data link consists of the following parts: internal ECM circuits, the related harness wiring, the service tool connector and the connector for the product link. The Cat Data Link connects to the ECM at contact J1-10 (wire 893-GN(Green)) and contact J1-20 (wire 892-BR(Brown)).
The ECM receives commands from the Cat ET in order to change the operating modes. The Cat ET will read the service codes that are stored in the memory of the ECM. The Cat ET will clear the service codes that are stored in the memory of the ECM.
The ECM sends the input and the output information to the Caterpillar ET. Note: An electronic control module
