At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Hot coolant and hot components can cause severe burns. Do not allow hot coolant or hot components to contact the skin.
Obtain S O S samples as close as possible to the recommended sampling interval. In order to receive the full effect of S O S analysis, establish a consistent trend of data. In order to establish a pertinent history of data, perform consistent samplings that are evenly spaced. Supplies for collecting samples can be obtained from your Cat dealer.Note: Level 1 results may indicate a need for Level 2 Analysis.

(1) Coolant sampling valve Obtain a coolant sample through sampling valve (1). Take the sample when the engine is cool and when the engine is operating at low idle.Submit the sample for Level 1 S O S analysis.Refer to the following publications for S O S information:
