HARNESS AS-WIRING 1958022 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the four bolts and remove panel assembly (1) from the left side of the machine. The governor linkage is disconnected for a better photo illustration only. 2. Put identification on the electric wires as to their location on the starting motor. Disconnect wires (2), (4) and (5) from the motor. Two persons will be needed to remove and install the starting motor because of its weight.3. Remove the three bolts (3) and remove the starting motor from the machine. The weight of the motor is 60 lb. (27 kg).Install Electric Starting Motor
1. Put motor (2) and the gasket in position and install the three bolts (1) to hold it. 2. Connect wires (3), (4) and (5) to their correct locations on the motor. Tighten the terminal nuts to a torque of 20 to 25 lb.ft. (25 to 35 N m). Make sure the screws that hold the wires to the solenoid are tightened to a torque of 16 to 20 lb.in. (1.8 to 2.3 N m).3. Install the panel assembly on the left side of the machine.
