Close shutoff valve (5). Loosen hose clamp (6) and remove hose (7). Remove bolts (8) and the washers in order to disconnect water separator base (9) from the fuel tank.

Install tooling (A). Use chains and a suitable lifting device. The weight of the fuel tank is 115 kg (254 lb).

Remove the remaining fuel tank mounting bolts (10) and the washers.

Move the fuel tank as far outward as necessary in order to access the components on the rear of the fuel tank. Disconnect wires (11) from the fuel sending unit. Clip tie-wraps in order to remove wire harness (12) from the fuel tank.

Loosen hose clamp (13) and remove hose (14). Remove the fuel tank from the machine.Installation Procedure

Personal injury or death can result from a fire.Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.

Install tooling (A) to the fuel tank. Use chains and a suitable lifting device in order to position the fuel tank on the machine.Note: Position the fuel tank slightly outward from the operator station in order to complete Step2.

Attach hose (14) and tighten hose clamp (13) .

Use tie-wraps in order to attach wire harness (12) to the fuel tank. Connect wires (11) to the fuel sending unit.
Move the fuel tank into the original position on the machine.

Install the washers and fuel tank mounting bolts (10) .

Place water separator base (9) into position on the machine. Install washers and bolts (8). Attach hose (7) and tighten hose clamp (6). Open shutoff valve (5) .

Install hose clip (4), the washer, and bolt (3). Install cover assembly (2) .

Install guard assembly (1) .
Refill the fuel tank.End By: Install the fuel tank guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Tank Guard - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
