Position the work tool with the tongs in the open position on a flat surface. Refer to illustration 1 for the correct position. You may also position the work tool on the side with the tongs in the open position on a flat surface. Refer to illustration 2 for the correct position.
Stop the engine of the host machine in order to prevent inadvertent movement of the work tool.

Check the static inspection torque of all rotator head bolts (2) in upper head (1) of the rotator. Use appropriate tooling in order to apply the torque that is specified in table 1. Check all of the rotator head bolts (2) in upper head (1) of the rotator.

Remove bolts (4) and washers (5) from both sides.
Remove cover (3) from both sides of lower head (6) .

Install cover (3). Install washers (4) and bolts (5). Install the cover assemblies on both sides of lower head (6) .
