The load leveler is primarily designed for lifting and lowering components that do not exceed 4500 kg (10,000 lb). The Load Leveler can be used for minimal horizontal and angular movement required for the removal or installation of the component. Do not use the load leveler for long horizontal lifts, dragging, or extreme rotation of large components. These activities can result in failure of the load leveler, dropping of the component, and severe injury or death to the technician.
The load leveler has an adjustable spreader bar which has two arms. Each arm has a hook at the outer end. The technician simply removes two locking bolts, adjusts the distance between the hooks, and reinstalls the locking bolts.The technician can adjust the distance between the hooks from 914 mm (36 inch) to 1422 mm (56 inch).A carriage moves across the main support beam in order to adjust the tilt angle of the component. The technician uses an impact wrench to adjust the lead screw which moves the carriage. This tilt adjustment can be made with the load suspended on the load leveler.
