Description of Change: A new friction disc and a new brake hub are now used in the service and parking brake group. The former friction disc had five teeth per inch of the pitch diameter. The new friction disc has four teeth per inch of the pitch diameter. The new design will reduce bending stress in each tooth by 30 %. The new design will improve the service life of the disc. This will improve the field service of the machines.Adaptable To: The new 270-9292 Friction Disc is a direct replacement for the former 9W-7017 Friction Disc in the 5T-5070 Service and Parking Brake Gp (Front). The new 270-4441 Brake Hub is a direct replacement for the former 136-7005 Brake Hub in the 5T-5070 Service and Parking Brake Gp (Front). Both new parts are adaptable back to the beginning of production of both machines. In order to install the new parts on older machines, you must install both the new friction disc and the new brake hub. The new parts became effective in production with the machine 2BW1275-UP.The 106-9885 Service and Parking Brake Gp is the service replacement part for the 5T-5070 Service and Parking Brake Gp (Front). Both new parts are components of the 106-9885 Service and Parking Brake Gp. The new 291-2901 Friction Disc is an option for the new 270-9292 . The new 291-2901 is made from a material that has a longer service life than the material in the new 270-9292 . The new 291-2901 is part of the 250-4049 Service and Parking Brake Gp.
