Start By:
Remove the service and parking brake. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Service and Parking Brake (Front) - Remove".
Read all Warning labels on the suspension cylinders before servicing.The machine must be on level ground before releasing the nitrogen pressure.Do not check the oil in the suspension cylinder until all of the nitrogen pressure has been released.Do not remove valves, covers, or plugs from the cylinder unless the rod is fully retracted and all of the nitrogen pressure as been released.Stand clear of the machine during suspension cylinder charging, discharging, or testing and adjusting procedures, or while lifting or lowering the machine.Sudden movement upward or downward can cause clearance to change rapidly.Failure to heed this Warning could lead to injury or death.
Discharge the suspension cylinder. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "General Information".

Release the torque on bolts (1) by loosening each of bolts (1) by one half turn in a circular pattern. Note: A failure to perform this procedure can result in bolt breakage and personal injury.

Remove two of bolts (1). Install Tooling (A). Remove the remaining bolts (1).

Use Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device in order to remove retainer plate (2). The weight of retainer plate (2) is approximately 110 kg (243 lb).

Remove shims (3). Note: Note the quantity and the order of shims (3).

Attach Tooling (C) and two suitable lifting devices onto spindle (4). The weight of spindle (4) is approximately 1005 kg (2216 lb).

Use Tooling (B) in order to position Tooling (D) onto Tooling (A) and spindle (4). The weight of Tooling (D) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).

Install two of bolts (1). Remove Tooling (B). Tighten bolts (1) until Tooling (D) contacts suspension cylinder (5).

Remove bolts (6). Use two people in order to remove bracket assembly (7). Repeat this step for the opposite side of spindle (4).

Install the remaining bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) by one half turn in a circular pattern until spindle (4) separates from suspension cylinder (5). Note: Do not exceed a torque of 1800 200 N m (1328 148 lb ft) on bolts (1).

Loosen bolts (1). Install Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto Tooling (D). The weight of Tooling (D) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb). Remove bolts (1). Remove Tooling (D).

Remove spindle (4) from suspension cylinder (5).
