Verify that all of the components are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation. Inspect all components for wear and replace the components, if necessary.
Replace all of the high temperature nuts, bolts, and gaskets with new parts.Note: The following procedure outlines the installation of the exhaust manifold on the right side of the engine. The same procedure can also be used for the installation of the exhaust manifold on the left side of the engine.

Install gasket (17) to exhaust manifold (15). Install two exhaust manifold sleeves (18), exhaust seal (19), and exhaust manifold (15) to exhaust manifold (14) .
Lubricate the threads of four bolts (14) with 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound prior to installation. Install four bolts (14) and the locknuts that hold exhaust manifold (15) to exhaust manifold (14). Tighten four bolts (14) in a diagonally opposite sequence to a torque of 50 5 N m (37 4 lb ft). Ensure that the seal is seated correctly.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the seven remaining exhaust manifolds.

Attach Tooling (A) to exhaust manifold assembly (3), as shown. Position a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A). Secure the lifting device to a hoist. Position exhaust manifold assembly (3) to the engine, as shown.

The air inlet cover and aftercooler core has been removed for photographic purposes.
Lubricate the threads of 32 bolts (13) with 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound prior to installation. Tighten 32 bolts (13) to a torque of 50 5 N m (37 4 lb ft).

Install manifold shield assembly (12) to exhaust manifold (3) .

Lubricate the threads of exhaust temperature sensor (11) with 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound prior to installation. Install exhaust temperature sensor (11) to exhaust manifold assembly (3). Tighten exhaust temperature sensor (11) to a torque of 25 5 N m (18 4 lb ft).
Connect wire harness (10) for exhaust temperature sensor (11) at the electrical connection.

Position tube assembly (7) in the correct position, as shown. Tighten clamp assembly (8) that holds tube assembly (7) to hose (9) to a torque of 13 4 N m (10 3 lb ft).

Position elbow (4) onto tube (5), as shown. Install clamp assembly (6), but do not tighten.

Position exhaust elbow (1), as shown. Lubricate the threads of four bolts (2) that hold exhaust elbow (1) to exhaust manifold assembly (3) with 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound prior to installation. Install four bolts (2) and the washers that hold exhaust elbow (1) to exhaust manifold assembly (3) .End By: Install the turbochargers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbochargers - Install".
