Typical exampleShear jaws are equipped with three types of cutting edges. The lower jaw is equipped with cutting edge (7) that is mounted vertically. This cutting edge prevents bending of the jaw during the cutting process. The other cutting edges consist of front cutting edges and rear cutting edges. Front cutting edges (1) are held in place with retainers (3) . Rear cutting edges (5) are not equipped with retainers.Note: Cutting edge (7) also uses retainers in the mounting.
Install an appropriate lifting device to the upper jaw in order to secure the jaw open.
Remove the nuts, the washers, and the flat head screws that secure each cutting edge to the jaw. Remove the shim pack behind each cutting edge.
