To facilitate the removal of the bucket pins without causing damage to the pins, the bearings and/or the O-ring seals, put the bucket flat on the floor and the stick in a vertical position as shown.
1. Start the machine, and position the bucket, the stick and the bucket linkage group as shown. It may be necessary to move the stick up and down a small amount to relieve the pressure on bucket pins (3) and (11) during the removal.2. Remove retaining bolt (4) and two nuts (2) from bucket pin (3). Remove bucket pin (3). The weight of the pin is 23 kg (50 lb).3. Pull link assembly (1) away from the bucket. Remove two O-ring seals (5). 4. Remove two nuts (6) and the retaining bolt (7). 5. Remove four bolts and washers (8) and plate (9).6. Remove seven shims (10).7. Remove pin (11). 8. Remove and check two O-rings (12).9. Remove and check flange (13) and dowel (14).10. The approximate weight of the bucket is 386 kg (850 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the bucket.
Make sure the stick pin bore, the bucket pin bores, the bucket pins, the flange and the O-ring seals are thoroughly clean prior to installation of the bucket.
11. Check the condition of the O-ring seals (5) and (12). If the O-ring seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. 12. Put a thin coat of 5P-0960 Multipurpose Grease on the outside machined diameter and the inside bore of flange (13). Install flange (13) in the bucket as shown.13. Temporarily install an O-ring seal (12) on each side of the stick at the bore for bucket pin (11). Start the machine, and lower the stick into the bucket until the pin bores are in alignment with each other.14. Put a thin coat of 5P-0960 Multipurpose Grease on bucket pin (11). Install bucket pin (11). Put the retaining bolt hole in bucket pin (11) in alignment with the retaining bolt hole in the bucket. Temporarily install the retaining bolt and two nuts (6). Install plate (9) without the shims, and four bolts (8) that hold it. Tighten bolts (8) evenly.15. Move the bucket to one side until it makes contact with the stick. Measure the clearance between the bucket and the stick at flange (13). Record this dimension. Add shims (minimum of three) between plate (9) and flange (13) until the clearance between the stick and the bucket is 0.5 to 1.0 mm (.02 to .04 in).16. Remove bucket pin (11). Install the shim pack determined in Step 10 between the plate (9) and flange (13). Reinstall bucket pin (11).17. Slide O-ring seals (12) in position over the joint between the bucket and the stick. 18. Temporarily install an O-ring seal (5) on each side of the bucket at the bores for bucket pin (3).19. Put a thin coat of 5P-0960 Multipurpose Grease on bucket pin (4).20. Put the bore in link assembly (1) in alignment with the
