Do not damage the machined surface of the barrel assembly. Damage to the machined surface of the barrel assembly will cause pump failure.
Heat bearing cone (17) to a maximum temperature of 120°C (248°F). Use insulated gloves to handle the bearing cone. Put the bearing cone in position on shaft (23) . Make sure that the bearing cone is firmly seated against the shoulder of body (12) .

Put a small amount of clean hydraulic oil on seal (16) and install the seal in pump head (12) .

Turn over the pump head and install two dowels (14) (not shown) into pump head (12) .
Install port plate (13) onto pump head (12) . Make sure that the dowels that are on the pump head are aligned with the dowel holes that are in the port plate.

Do not damage the machined surface of the pump head. Damage to the machined surface of the pump head will cause pump failure.
Install Tooling (F) , as shown.Note: Tooling (F) must be modified in order to be used as guide bolts. Position Tooling (F) in a suitable vise. Remove the heads of the bolts in order to use Tooling (F) as guide bolts.
Install pump head (11) and the gasket on body (12) , as shown.

Install two bolts (5) with flat washers in order to hold pump head (12) tight against the body.
Install original shims (10) and woodruff key (9) on the shaft.

Install impeller (8) and locknut (7) on the shaft. Tighten the locknut to a torque of 150 20 N m (110 15 lb ft).
Use Tooling (D) and Tooling (G) to check the clearance at 120 degree intervals around the impeller, as shown.Note: The clearance between the gauge bar and the impeller must be 0.44 0.08 mm (0.017 0.003 inch). Add more shims behind the impeller, if necessary.
Remove two bolts (5) and the flat washers.

Install cover (6) and the O-ring seal.

Remove Tooling (F) .
Install 10 bolts (5) in order to secure the cover to the pump head. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).
Use a torque wrench to turn the shaft. The torque that is needed to start the rotation must not be more than 55 N m (40 lb ft). The torque that is needed to continue the rotation must not be more than 37 N m (27 lb ft).Note: If the torque values are higher than the specifications, the pump will need to be disassembled and the procedures for shimming will need to be done again.

Position plate (4) and the O-ring seal for installation. Install four bolts (3) .
