2. Remove two bolts (1), elbow (2) and the O-ring seal. Check the O-ring seal for wear or damage and replace it with a new part if necessary. 3. Remove gasket (4), three bolts (3), and cover assembly (5). 4. Remove gasket (7) and water temperature regulator (8).5. If necessary remove plug (6). The following steps are for the installation of the water temperature regulator.6. Check the condition of all gaskets used in the installation of the water temperature regulators. If any of the gaskets are worn or damaged, replace the gaskets with new parts.
If the water temperature regulators are installed wrong, or are missing, the engine will overheat.
7. If plug (6) was removed, install the plug.8. Install gasket (7).9. Install water temperature regulator (8) as shown. 10. Install gasket (4) and cover assembly (5) with two bolts (3). 11. Install the O-ring seal and elbow (2) with two bolts (1). Lubricate the bore and O-ring seal lightly with glycerin or approved equivalent.12. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. For the correct fluid and filling procedure, refer to the Operation & Maintenance Module.
