Twin series turbocharger engine shown.1. Disconnect the turbocharger oil supply line(s) (2) at the cylinder block. Cap and plug all openings immediately.2. Remove two bolts, nuts and washers (1).

Twin series turbocharger engine shown.3. Remove two bolts (3) and move the turbocharger oil supply line(s) (2) away from the turbocharger. Remove the O-ring seal from turbocharger oil supply line (2).4. Remove two bolts (4) holding the turbocharger oil drain line (5) to the turbocharger. Remove the O-ring seal from the turbocharger oil drain line (5). 5. Remove four turbocharger mounting bolts (7), nuts and washers.6. Use a strap and a suitable lifting device to remove turbocharger (6).7. Remove turbocharger gasket (8). The turbocharger is serviceable at cartridge level only, or replacement of the complete turbocharger. Internal parts are not serviced. Place alignment marks on the turbocharger cartridge and housings. Alignment marks will be used during assembly.8. If necessary, loosen the V-band clamps and separate the compressor housing and the turbine housing from the turbocharger cartridge. The following steps are for the installation of the turbocharger. Check all O-ring seals for wear or damage and replace with new parts if necessary. If the turbocharger housings were separated from the turbocharger cartridge, place the components in their original position with the alignment marks. Position the V-band clamps loosely.9. Install turbocharger (6) and a new gasket (8). Position the turbocharger cartridge and housings with air pipes, exhaust pipes, and oil lines so they are all aligned without binding.
Do not tighten the turbocharger mounting bolts at this time.
10. Install turbocharger mounting bolts (7), nuts and washers. Tighten turbocharger mounting bolts finger tight only. Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the threads of the turbocharger mounting bolts.11. Position turbocharger oil drain line (5) in its original location and install two bolts (4) and the O-ring seal. Tighten bolts (4) finger tight only.12. Position turbocharger oil supply line (2) in its original location and install two bolts (3) and the O-ring seal. Tighten bolts (3) finger tight only.13. Connect turbocharger oil supply line (2) at the cylinder block. Install bolt (1) and the washer. Tighten bolt (1) finger tight only.14. After all the components are positioned and aligned without binding, tighten the turbocharger V-band clamp nuts to a torque of 14 1 N m (10 1 lb ft). Tap the V-band clamps lightly all around, and tighten the V-band clamp nuts again to a torque of 14 1 N m (10 1 lb ft).15. Tighten bolts (1), (3), (4) and (7) to the standard torque value.
