1. Install tool (A) to hold the bogies in position. Use tooling (B) if the rollers on the center two bogies are to be removed.2. Lift the side of the tractor that the roller to be removed is on. Move the minor bogie so that track roller (1) to be removed is in a position as shown. The track roller must be in a position so tooling (A) can be installed and the track roller can be removed.3. Loosen the track. See SEPARATION OF TRACK. 4. Install tool (C) under the track roller. Remove four bolts (3) that hold the track roller to the minor bogie. Remove two caps (2). Remove track roller (1) from the minor bogie. The weight of the track roller is 350 lb. (158 kg).Install Track Roller
1. Use a hoist and tooling (A) and put track roller (1) in position on the minor bogie. 2. Put cap (2) in position on the minor bogie. Make sure pin (4) is in alignment with hole (3) in the track roller shaft. Install bolts (5) until they are just tight. Install the cap and bolts on the other side of the track idler.3. Tighten four bolts (5) to a torque of 1000 100 lb.ft. (1350 135 N m). 4. Lower the tractor to the ground. Remove tool (B). Remove tool (C) if the rollers on the center two bogies were removed.5. Make an alignment to the track. See CONNECTION OF TRACK.Disassemble Track Roller
start by:a) remove track roller 1. Remove six bolts (1) and remove retainer assembly (2) from each side of the track roller. 2. Remove O-ring seal (3) and Duo-Cone seal (4) from each retainer. Put identification on the Duo-Cone seals for correct installation. 3. Remove Duo-Cone seal (5) from each side of the track roller. 4. Fasten a hoist (not shown) and remove shaft (6) from the track roller. The weight of the shaft is 80 lb. (36 kg). The plug and stopper is in one end of the shaft only. 5. Use a punch and hammer as shown to push the plug into the shaft. 6. Put a screwdriver along the outside diameter of stopper (7). Put oil on the outside diameter of the stopper. Do this all around the stopper. Use a screwdriver and remove stopper (7) from the shaft.Assemble Track Roller
The rubber seals and all surfaces that make contact with the seals must be clean and dry with no damage to the surface when the Duo-Cone seals are installed. After installation of the seals, put oil on the contact surface of the Duo-Cone seals. 1. Fasten a hoist and install shaft (1) in the track roller. 2. Use tooling (A) and install Duo-Cone seal (2) on each end of the shaft. 3. Install the Duo-Cone seal in each retainer (3) with tooling (A), (C) and a press.
