Position the suspension cylinder on Tooling (A). In order to prevent damage to the seals, make sure that the suspension cylinder is in a vertical position. Install the nuts and the bolts in order to secure the suspension cylinder to Tooling (A).
Position a floor jack under the rod assembly.

When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.
Remove bearing cap (1). Remove retaining ring (3). Use a suitable press in order to remove bearing (2). Remove pressure sensor (4).

Mark head (6) and the front suspension cylinder for alignment. Remove bolts (5) and the washers from the front suspension cylinder.
Remove head (6) from the front suspension cylinder.

Remove valve assembly (7) and remove check valve (8) from head (6). Remove ring (9) and O-ring seal (10) from head (6).

Position a suitable container below the front suspension cylinder. Drain any remaining hydraulic oil from the suspension cylinder into a suitable container for disposal or storage.
Remove the bolts (11) and the washers from piston (12). Install Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto piston (12). Remove piston (12).

Remove ring (13) from piston (12).

Install Tooling (C), Tooling (D), and Tooling (E). Lift rod assembly (14) from the housing assembly until ball (15) is exposed. Remove ball (15).
Lift rod assembly (14) until the rod is free inside the housing assembly. Remove Tooling (C). Do not remove Tooling (D) at this time.

Install Tooling (F) into Tooling (E). Position a suitable lifting device to Tooling (F), as shown. Secure the lifting device to a suitable lifting device.
Remove rod assembly (14). The weight of rod assembly (14) is 113 kg (250 lb).

Use Tooling (A) to rotate the cylinder for 180 degrees, as shown. Remove lip seal (15), ring seal (17), and ring (16) from the bottom of the housing assembly.

Use Tooling (A) to rotate the cylinder for 180 degrees, as shown. Remove Tooling (D) (not shown) at this time.
Use Tooling (G) and two people to remove tube (18) and the gland as a unit from the cylinder. The weight of the gland and tube (18) is 31 kg (68 lb).
Remove Tooling (G) from tube (18) and the gland.

Separate gland (21) from tube (18).
Remove O-ring seal (19) and backup ring (20) from the outer diameter of gland (21).
Remove U-cup seal (22) and wear ring (23) from the inner diameter of gland (21).
