C4.4     20R-2450            The dealer must remove the plate from the existing engine. The plate will then need to be installed onto the replacement remanufactured engine. Failure to reinstall the plate will result in no oil pressure or low oil pressure. Engine damage will take place if the plate is not installed to the replacement remanufactured engine.

Typical exampleThe plate (2) and bolts (3) will be reused. Ensure that the existing gasket has been removed from the plate. A new gasket (1) must be used when reinstalling the plate. Refer to table 2 for the parts information.

Inspect the surfaces of the remanufactured engine cylinder block for wear or damage.
Install a new gasket (1) to the cylinder block.
Install plate (2) to the cylinder block.
Install bolts (3) to plate (2). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 22 N m (16 lb ft).
