9. Put 2P2506 Thread Lubricant on the threads, body and washer face of bolts (6).10. Put master shoe (4) in position on the master link, and install four bolts (6) to hold the master link together. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 170 40 N m (120 30 lb ft). Tighten the bolts 180° 5° more. 11. Tighten relief valve (2) and fill valve (3). Tighten the valves to a torque of 35 7 N m (26 5 lb ft). 12. Adjust the track as follows: The track adjustment procedure should be performed under the same conditions in which the machine is used. Packing must NOT be removed from the track if packing conditions exist on the job.a. Move the machine forward a distance of twice its length. Allow the machine to come to a stop without the use of the brakes.b. Put a tight line between the grouser tips at the sprocket and front idler.c. Measure distance (X) from the line to the lowest point of (sag) of the grouser tips. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Type Grease in the track adjuster, and adjust the track until distance (X) is 100 10 mm (4.0 .4 in). This is the sag (curve) in the track between the sprocket and the front idler.d. Do not tighten the track more if distance (Y) is 105 mm (4.1 in) or more. The track will have to be removed and reconditioned. 13. Put the O-ring seal and cover (1) in position on the rear track roller frame. Install the bolts to hold the cover in place.Disassemble Tracks
1. Move the machine forward or backward until the track pins to be removed are in position behind the front idler. 2. Put blocks (1) in position under the front of the track.3. Put blocks (2) in position to support the track.4. Release the pressure in the track adjuster. See Separation Of Track. 5. Remove three track shoes (3) over the track pins to be removed. 6. Fasten a hoist to tooling (A). Put tooling (A) in position against track pin (4).7. Push track pin (4) out of the track with tooling (A), and install one of tooling (B) to hold the track together until the other track pin is removed.8. Put tooling (A) in position against track pin (5). Push track pin (5) out of the track, and install tool (B).9. Remove tooling (A) from the track.
Do not damage the face of the seals when the links are moved apart.
10. Put tool (C) in position in link assembly (7) as shown. Use tool (C) to spread the link assembly apart far enough to disconnect link assembly (7) from link assembly (6).11. Remove tool (B), and move link assembly (6) away from link assembly (7). 12. Put tool (C) in position in link assembly (8) as shown.13. Use tool (C) to spread link assembly (8) apart far enough to remove link assembly (7). Remove tool (B) and link assembly (7).
