Information:

Depress the automatic articulation centering control (1) in order to return the machine to the center position.
Again, depress the automatic articulation centering control (1). Check for movement from the machine.
If there is articulation movement, check the articulation linkage for binding or for damage. If the linkage is not damaged but there is still articulation movement, the articulation solenoid should be calibrated. Then, proceed to Step ""Calibration of the Articulation Solenoid"".

If there is no articulation movement, ensure that the frame lock pin (2) drops freely into the hole in the hitch with no input from the joystick. For more information on the frame lock pin, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock" for your machine. If the frame lock pin does not drop into the hole, proceed to ""Calibration of the Articulation Sensor"".
If the articulation passes the check, proceed to ""Calibration of the Steering Cylinder Sensor"".Calibration of the Articulation Solenoid
Warm the hydraulic oil to 55° C (131° F).
Activate the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) software. Enter the calibration mode.
Select solenoid calibration in the implement ECM. Check only the articulation solenoids.
Follow the procedure that is outlined in Cat ET in order to complete the calibration.Calibration of the Articulation Sensor
Note: During this procedure, align the steering system and disengage the parking brake.Note: During this procedure, ensure that the machine fully articulates to the left and to the right. The cylinders should fully extend in both directions and the cylinders should fully retract in both directions.
Activate the Cat ET software. Enter the calibration mode.
Select calibration for the articulation sensor in the ECM for the attachment. As you go through the calibration procedure, the program will ask you to articulate from one side to the other side. During this procedure, machine movement is allowed. As you begin the step to bring the machine back to the center position, make sure that the machine is straight by driving forward slightly. This will reduce any stress that is on the tires. Ensure that the frame lock pin (2) drops freely into the hole in the hitch. Refer to Illustration 2 and Illustration 3. For more information on the frame lock pin, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock" for your machine.Testing the Calibration
In order to test the calibration, articulate the machine fully to the left and articulate the machine fully to the right.

Depress the automatic articulation centering control (1) in order to return the machine to the center position.
Exit the cab. Ensure that the frame lock pin (2) drops freely into the hitch. This will ensure the correct calibration of the calibration sensor. Refer to Illustration 2 and Illustration 3. For more information on the frame lock pin, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock" for your machine. If the pin does not fit, repeat the ""Calibration of the Articulation Sensor"". Repeat the ""Testing the Calibration"" until the test
