The "F2" direction clutch is engaged for upshifting in speeds F10-F16. Also, the F2 direction clutch is engaged for downshifting in speeds F16-F8.
When the "F2" direction clutch is engaged, the adjacent end gear is locked to the shaft.
The power flow is shown in Illustration 1. The power flows from the transfer gears directly to the end gear of the engaged "F2" direction clutch and to the output shaft.
The higher speed range is achieved by only one stage of reduction between the transfer gear and output shaft.

Engagement of reverse speeds
The "R" direction clutch is engaged for the reverse speeds of R3-R11.
When the "R" direction clutch is engaged, the adjacent end gear is locked to the shaft.
Power flow for the reverse speeds is shown Illustration 9.
The reverse speeds are achieved by the two stages of reduction that are between the transfer gear and the output shaft. The location of the output shaft is also reversed.
The reverse speeds of R3-R11 are matched to the forward speeds of F3-F11.The individual speed for each forward speed and reverse speed are shown in Table 2. The speeds are at the rated engine speed of 2100 rpm.
