When it is necessary to work under the machine with the body (bed) raised, attach the body (bed) retaining cables to the rear tow points. Install the rear tow point pins through the ends of the retaining cables.Failure to properly secure the body (bed) may result in personal injury or death.

(1) Retaining cable Clean the screens whenever there is a failure of the brakes, hoist cylinders, or hoist pumps.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Raise the dump body until the rear tow point pin aligns with the end of retaining cable (1) from the body. Install the rear tow point pin.

(2) Hoist screens
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact the skin.
Loosen the bolts on the hoses for hoist screens (2) and drain the oil from the lines into a suitable container.
Remove the hoses and remove both hoist screens (2). Clean hoist screens (1) in clean nonflammable solvent.
Install clean hoist screens (2) and the hoses. Use new seals. Tighten the bolts.
Check for leaks and make any necessary repairs.
