This diagnostic code is recorded when the VIMS electronic control module reads the voltage of the display power supply circuit and the voltage is above normal. The normal voltage of display power supply is 12.0 0.5 DCV. Test Step 1. CHECK THE VOLTAGE AT THE CONNECTOR OF THE VIMS ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE.
Check the voltage at the connector of the VIMS electronic control module from connector contacts J2-65 (wire E707-GN(Green)) to J2-66 (wire E972-BU(Blue)). Use the 7X-1710 Cable probes to make the measurement. Do NOT disconnect the machine harness from the VIMS electronic control module. Expected Result:The voltage is 12.0 0.5 DCV.Results:
OK - Voltage is 12.0 0.5 DCV. The display power supply voltage is correct.Repair: Check the message center for the same diagnostic code. If the diagnostic code is still present the VIMS electronic control module has failed. Replace the VIMS electronic control module. Refer to theTesting and Adjusting, "Module - Replace" section. STOP
NOT OK - Voltage is NOT 12.0 0.5 DCV. The voltage of the display power supply is NOT correct. Proceed to test step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE HARNESS FOR A SHORT TO THE +BATTERY CIRCUIT.
Disconnect the machine harness from the VIMS electronic control module.
Measure the voltage at connector contact J2-65 (wire E707-GN(Green)) and contact J2-66 (wire E972-BU(Blue)). Expected Result:The voltage is 0.0 0.5 DCV. Results:
OK - The voltage is 0.0 0.5 DCV. The voltage is correct. The VIMS electronic control module has failed.Repair: Replace the VIMS electronic control module. Refer to the Testing and Adjusting, "Module - Replace" section.STOP
NOT OK - The voltage is NOT 0.0 0.5 DCV. Repair: The harness has failed. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. STOP
