Note: Drain the hydraulic oil from the tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal if not already done.
REMOVE PILOT VALVE TO ALLOW ACCESS TO IMPLEMENT VALVE
4A. Disconnect the hose and harness assemblies from both sides of pilot control valve.
4B. Remove the bolts and reposition the pilot control valve out of the way.
REMOVE AND REPLACE IMPLEMENT VALVE
4C. Disconnect the harness assemblies, manifold, and hose assemblies.
Note: This valve weighs 45kg (100lbs) and should be lifted out with a suitable lifting device. Refer to KENR5625.
4D. The implement valve should not be reused due to potential internal casting flash and replaced with new part.
4E. Remove the hose assemblies and tube assemblies from the implement valve, pump (if damaged), and hoses to implement and tilt cylinders. Clean these parts with solvent and allow the parts to air dry. Plug both ends of hoses/tubes and place aside until reinstalled.
4F. Install a new implement valve and reconnect the pilot valve and all hoses. Refer to KENR5625.
5. CYLINDER REMOVAL/INSPECTION (if required after tank filter inspection)
Refer to Image1.9.1.

TILT CYLINDERS
5A. Drain / siphon oil from both tilt cylinders. Remove oil lines and drain oil from lines if not already done. Remove, disassemble and inspect both cylinders for contamination and damage. Refer to remove/install and disassembly/assembly in KENR5625.
5B. Remove cylinder head and pull rod assembly from cylinder bore, to allow inspection of piston seals/wear band for signs of metal contaminants. Replace piston seals if any contaminants are found in the seals or any damage is evident and inspect cylinder bore for signs of scoring/damage as well. Contact CAT Service Representative if additional cylinder repairs required beyond replacement of piston seals. Refer to Image1.10.1.

**IMPORTANT - Do NOT remove piston from rod assembly and take special care not to damage rod/head seals during this inspection process.
5C. Clean and flush all components prior to reassembly, replacing piston seals and wear bands as needed.
LIFT CYLINDERS
5D. Leave cylinders installed on machine. Remove oil lines and drain oil. Drain and screen oil from both lift cylinders. Remove port in cap end (top of cylinder) and siphon/pump oil into a container screened to 16/13 or use filter paper to allow visual inspection for any metallic contaminants. Rod is extended, so largest volume of oil in cylinder will be removed during this process. If metal contaminants are found in the oil, proceed with removing and disassembly of both cylinders for damage inspection and clean-out. Refer to remove/install and disassembly/assembly in KENR5625.
Note: If removing lift cylinders, please make sure to remove the quick drop valve assembled to the port and reinstall with proper torque procedure before using the cylinder. Also ensure blade is on the ground and implement pressure relieved prior to disassembly.
RIPPER CYLINDERS
5E. If metal contamination is found in any of the four cylinders above, the ripper
