The pedal (1) is part of the linkage assembly. The linkage assembly connects to an adjustable rod. The adjustable rod connects to the cable (2). The cable (2) actuates the lever (3) on the engine governor.Push the pedal in order to increase the speed of the engine. As the pedal is pushed down, the cable (2) pulls the lever (3) on the governor.The governor control lever (4) is mechanically coupled with the pedal (1). When you push the lever (4) forward, the lever (4) contacts pedal (1). The lever (4) keeps the throttle linkage from moving to a lower idle.
