Main Hydraulic Control Valve
Measure the diameter of the bores in the main hydraulic control valve with the 6V-6000 Dial Indicator . Record the measurement of dimension (D). Refer to Illustration 4.

Compensator Valve
Measure the outside diameter of the compensator valve that was disassembled in Step 2. Use the 8T-0447 Dial Caliper As . Record the measurement of dimension (E). Refer to Illustration 5.
The clearance of dimension (D) minus dimension (E) should be 0.015 to 0.020 mm (.0006 to .0008 inch). If the clearance exceeds the specification, proceed to the ""Repair Procedure"".Note: If the recorded measurement of Dimension (D) of the bore in the valve body is greater than 44.65 mm (1.7579 inch), then install a new 230-2758 Valve Kit .Note: If the recorded measurement of outside diameter (E) of the compensator valve is less than 44.54 mm (1.7535 inch), then install a new 230-2758 Valve Kit .Repair Procedure

Machine a groove for the spring in cover (7). Refer to Illustration 6 for the dimensions.

Prepare the necessary number of valve kits. Refer to Illustration 7.Note: Finish grind the outside diameter of valve (F) to a size that is 0.015 to 0.020 mm (.0006 to .0008 inch) smaller than the diameter of the bore of the valve body with the most wear.
Assemble the 230-2758 Valve Kit and spring (3) .

Manufacture the special fixture out of plastic or aluminum. Refer to Illustration 8 for the dimensions.

Valve Kit (J) Fixture (T) 230-2758 Valve Kit
Use the special fixture when you install valve kit (T) in the bore of the main hydraulic control valve.
Make sure that valve (4) moves smoothly. Operate the valve by hand.
Repeat steps 1 to 6 for the other worn bores and compensator valves (4) .Note: The number of rebuilt bores depends on the number of the worn bores.
Assemble cover (7) on the main hydraulic control valve.
Test and adjust all the pressures on the machine that is being serviced. Refer to the Testing and Adjusting module that is appropriate for your machine.
